“Computer programming and data analysis with Python”: Programming is essential for scientific research and data analysis. However, most of the students in Bangladesh who are not students of computer and IT related subjects are quite panicked about programming language. From this point of view, Md. Jalal Uddin, the founder and director of the research society, has arranged a free training course on Python Programming and Data Analysis to make the young generation enthusiastic for research purposes. “GIS and Remote sensing”: Geographic information systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing knowledge are crucial for researchers to conduct research. Although it is included in several departments at the university level, students do not get much opportunity to acquire practical knowledge about it. Thus, the Research Society had arranged a free online training course to facilitate research using remote sensing and GIS tools (ArcGIS). The participants were very satisfied.

“CIT Training”: At the beginning of the Research Society, Professor Dr Golam Dastagir and Md. Jalal Uddin had arranged a CIT training to focus on building skills and enhancing confidence to address and resolve crises arising in different difficult times. Particularly, during the COVID-19 pandemic, when life is crippled in all aspects, leading to dangerous situations which seem to have no end in the near future, but which can be handled or coped with, if proper assessment and intervention is in effect.

Collaboration Training

“Basic Statistics: Application in SPSS”: The importance of statistics in various fields including research is immense. Chittagong University Scientific Society collaboration with the Research Society has started a free online training program using SPSS to enrich the knowledge of statistics and facilitating data analysis. Md. Jalal Uddin, the founder and director of the Research Society, is training many students in this program. Participants are enjoying this course. Now, it’s going on. 

Academic Talk

“How to explore opportunities from research sectors: both in Bangladesh and overseas”: Opportunities are needed to achieve the desired goal of researchers. Therefore, Research Society had arranged this program with the guest Nurul Amin Sohail, PhD fellow, University of New England Australia and faculty, Environmental Science, PSTU.

“How to manage scholarship and prepare documents for China”: China holds its leading position in scientific research, so this country can be a preferable for seeking a scholarship to fresher researchers. Managing a scholarship in China is also easier than in other countries. From that point of view, Research Society arranged this program. Sunit Mistry and Md. Jalal Uddin were the speaker. The procedures of applying for the scholarship in China were explained and quarries of participants were answered properly.  

“Basic guidelines to publish a scientific research paper”: It was the second collaborative program of Research Society. Chittagong University Scientific Society (CUSS) has arranged this amazing program with more than two hundred participants. The speaker, Md. Jalal Uddin, founder, and director of Research Society, has shared his experience of the journey of research and showed the proper way of publishing papers for beginners.

“How to manage professor and find scholarship: A pathway to manage academic documents”: A scholarship in a foreign country is a dream of many students, but the process is not easy. Managing professors and academic documents are mandatory for achieving a scholarship. Md. Jalal Uddin gave informative guidelines to manage these.

 “Think about science a pathway to research career”: Research is inherently connected with Science, so the program was arranged. This program was so informative, and the keynote speaker, Md Wahiduzzaman, Ph.D., has explained well all about research career’ guidance. The participants were satisfied.

“How to write and publish paper: abstract to conclusion”: PSTU career club along with research society made this program successful. It was a beneficial program for those, who have not proper knowledge of writing and publishing scientific paper.

English Corner

“Importance of learning English: A pathway to right pronunciation”: Research is unimaginable without English. Therefore, every person who wants to be a researcher should develop English skills. From this perspective, the Research Society has created an English Corner, where everyone can practice English. English Corner provides its participants with the necessary materials on a daily basis and arranges one English conversation session each week to improve their knowledge and skills in English. The Research Society organized an academic talk aimed at giving students the guidance they need to improve their English skills.

RSDS Scholarship

Research and Skill Development Society has also announced a one-time scholarship for journal paper publishers in SCI and SCIE journals at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, which will be implemented soon.
